The last 3 weeks I have spent surrounded by family, my own needs folded into the largess of others and the extraordinary celebrations as we sat down daily for dinner of 10 or more people. Its has been delightfully all consuming and nourishing and I have to say it’s hard to readjust to the singularity of self as I come home.

Its the epitome of freedom, having time again to myself and yet the strength required to make myself worth my while always astounds me. This is where personal practices, although disheveled and without an accomplished routine, really help keep me grounded, present and in service. And I’m excited to share some of those practices next week as I get back into writing more and working on my self motivation.
Because how do you keep focussed on your dreams when it’s just you holding them? Even with loved ones around we all have our own heart in our hands. Honestly - I don’t really do it that well and learning about how to get the right support is still tough, almost 50 years later on the planet.
Meanwhile here are some folks who do wonderful and fabulous stuff and inspire me to carry on with my own
Leslie Lekos at Wildroot Botanicals. An incredible neighbor and colleague to have, Leslie produces incredible product, made and wild crafted by her and her hands as well as being a fabulous guide and herbal teacher. Her love of the plants, how to be in the outdoors and deep rooted wisdom is an inspiration. And like many of us, she is a busy Mum who somehow raised a business doing what she loves with a lot hard graft, mostly in the belief that it was worth while and that she could do it! Check out her website and also her Etsy store for some of the better quality curated botanical products out there.
Benjamin Brightheart Pixie at Pixie Mead. Someone else who I have worked alongside and admired for their diligence and ongoing expansion of their passion and all the unusual and miraculous places that it takes you. Ben Pixie started with honey and now has a fantastic Mead Club where you can buy his artesian small batch handcrafted product. Like Leslie the quality doesn’t just come from the extremely high standard of ingredients used but also the relationship with in the making and procuring. Check out his Mead Club, where he keeps his bees and the land he stewards.
Rose Drummond at Rose Unfolding. Another acquaintance who has wondered in and out of the same circles, Rose is an incredible artist, food grower, songstress and cake baker. Her depth of perception and diligence in standing in her beauty is a big inspiration to me. The act of faith and courage it takes to try and make it with your art can be so daunting and overwhelming and downright financially terrifying and yet here we are. Its been amazing and awe-inspiring to watch her work grow and develop through all the crazy twists and turns and just ongoing change that gets thrown our way.
Warmly
Natasha
